Audience:  Presenters using Screen Share to show slide decks

Objective:  Gives presenter control of slides in screen share on someone else's computer

Tired of saying (or hearing), “Next slide, please.”?  With the Remote Control function, you can give control of your screen share to another meeting participant, or another person can request to control your screen share.

NB:  What you share is important!  If you share just one window or application, the remote person can only control that. If you share your entire screen, the person can do just about everything on your computer - including launching other programs and changing your configuration (the same thing as the Zoom Remote Support function).

To activate:

1. Screen share an application/window,

2. Hover cursor over the screen share menu to expand the menu.

3. Click “Remote Control” (see green arrow).

4. Select the participant who will use remote control.

5. In popup dialog box, confirm your choice

6. Participant confirms they accept control in popup notification.

Once the person accepts and clicks in the shared window, the person has control.

Alternate method:  During a screen share, a second participant may request remote control by:

1. Click View Options in the header of their screen share window.

2. Click Request Remote Control” (green oval).

Popup appears on Screen Sharer's screen requesting remote control

3. Screen Sharer confirms request

During Remote Control:  Screen sharer may regain control at any time by just clicking anywhere. The other person can gain control again by clicking in the shared window.

Cancel Remote Control:  Clicking "Stop Remote Control" button found in the screen share menu under “Remote Controlled” menu option cancels the remote control feature.
